Update--As the StingRays reach the regular season’s finish line tonight, they are gasping and wheezing, finishing up a four-game Eastern trip in six days. Philadelphia has been gasping and wheezing all of 1998. The Rage is 2-15 since Jan. 1 and clinched the worst record in the league Sunday, an 84-67 home loss to New England. While that was happening, Long Beach--playing 21 hours after a win in Atlanta--was enduring a 111-80 loss at league-leader Columbus. Long Beach can reach .500 on the trip tonight. The StingRays opened with a 34-point loss at New England, beat Atlanta and were flattened by the Quest.
