Meeting to Focus on Balboa Peninsula Plan
Plans to revitalize Balboa Peninsula will be the subject of an informational meeting March 12 at the Newport Beach Central Library.
The plan, adopted by the city last year, calls for tidying streets by burying power lines and planting trees along main streets. City officials also have considered making some radical changes, including creating bed-and-breakfast zones and allowing a hotel to be built between the Balboa and Newport piers.
The 7 p.m. update will take place in the library’s friends meeting room, 1000 Avocado Ave. Information: (714) 717-3801.
