Frank Carroll, the 59-year-old coach of Michelle Kwan, shot down the rumor he will move his base from Lake Arrowhead to Boston if Kwan is accepted next fall into Harvard.

“My home is Palm Springs,” he said. “I don’t want to live anywhere else the rest of my life. I’ve found my spot.

“I love rollerblading with my friends in Las Palmas. There’s a lot of older people there, and I can’t even imagine what they think when they see us coming.

“One of my friends does an axel. Another does a lutz and a loop.”

As for Carroll, he said he settles for “edges and pivots.”
