* Campbell Soup Co. said it will sell its can-making business, accelerate cost-cutting and take a charge in its fiscal third quarter as it tightens its focus on its core businesses. Campbell will sell its four can-making plants for $125 million to Stamford, Conn.-based Silgan Holdings Inc.

* Auction house Christie’s International said it has ended talks on a possible takeover with an investor group led by SBC Warburg Dillon Reed after the two could not agree on terms.

* J.P. Morgan & Co. sued Boram Bank for $180 million, alleging the South Korean company failed to make payments on derivatives. The move escalated an international court battle.
