A documentary depicting the poignant return to Vietnam by a group of former intensive-care nurses will be introduced by its producer, actress Connie Stevens, at the Mission Viejo Library tonight.

“A Healing,” a 2 1/2-hour video, will be screened at 7 p.m. by Stevens, who traveled with the former nurses to Vietnam in 1995. After the screening, Stevens will answer questions from the audience.

The documentary follows seven women as they traveled through the country, recording their recollections and reactions to postwar Vietnam.

“This is something that will attract people against the war in Vietnam as well as people who were in it,” said Natalie Hoffman, a board member of the Mission Viejo Cultural Arts Committee, which is sponsoring the event. “It’s an outstanding documentary and a chance for people to really see what the war was like.”

The screening is free.

The Mission Viejo Library is at Marguerite Parkway and La Paz Road. Information: (714) 768-8421.
