El Concilio Offers 2 $200 Scholarships
El Concilio del Condado de Ventura is offering two $200 scholarships to students ages 16 through 20 who want to attend a four-year university, community college or technical school.
A committee will select one young man and one young woman based on financial need and career goals.
Two recommendations are required from a counselor, employer or teacher. Each applicant must write a one- to two-page essay about themselves, their goals and how those goals will benefit the community.
El Concilio is a nonprofit organization that provides youth, health and referral services to Ventura County residents.
Applications, which are due March 20, may be picked up at El Concilio’s office at 400 South B St., Oxnard. For further information, call 486-9777, Ext. 233.
