Public Meetings to Be Held to Discuss Charter Reform
The elected and appointed Los Angeles Charter Reform Commissions will hold public meetings about every two weeks through June in an effort to engage citizens in the process of reforming city government.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Elected Charter Reform Commission will meet to discuss issues involving City Council districts. The number of districts, their size and boundaries will be the focus of the discussion, which will include comments from the public. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at Angelica Lutheran Church, 1345 S. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Appointed Charter Reform Commission will begin deliberations on what should be included in the charter. “Once the commission decides what subject matter is included in the charter, we can make other decisions on the balance of power and neighborhood participation,” Chairman George Kieffer said.
