Wayne Gretzky, who played in his first Olympics at the age of 37, figures it was also his last international competition.

“That chapter of my life is over, and I enjoyed all 19 years of it,” he said.

Gretzky said he hadn’t gotten a chance to talk to his new boss. “I hope Muck gives me Tuesday off,” he said.

OH, YOU MEAN THIS OLD THING?

King defenseman Aki Berg, a member of Finland’s bronze medal-winning team, said he didn’t rub it in when he passed teammate Rob Blake in the postgame handshaking line.

“He just say, ‘Congratulations,’ and I say, ‘Thank you,’ ” Berg said. “I didn’t show him my medal yet. Maybe my first day in L.A. I will bring it with me to the locker room and say, ‘Oh, look at that.’ ”
