Los Angeles County Supervisor Mike Antonovich received his retirement badge Monday after 31 years as a reserve officer with the city’s Police Department.

Police Chief Michael Berkow presented the badge to Antonovich, who in more than three decades devoted 3,230 hours of volunteer service.

Antonovich, a county supervisor since 1981, continued to serve even during his tenure as a state assemblyman from 1972 to 1978.

“He commuted from Sacramento to fulfill his reserve duties here in South Pasadena,” Berkow said. “We feel very fortunate that he has devoted so much time and energy over the years to our city--not just as a county supervisor, but working as a street police officer in a black-and-white out in the field.”
