Sanitation Proposal on City Council Agenda

Share

An official request to place water and sanitation services under city control could be approved tonight by the City Council.

The city currently receives service by several water and sewer agencies, including the South Coast Water District, the Dana Point Sanitary District and the Capistrano Beach Water District.

If approved, the city would file a joint application with Laguna Beach for the reorganization with the Local Agency Formation Commission, which oversees such government consolidations.

Under the joint agreement, Dana Point would provide water service to South Laguna. The city of Laguna Beach would take care of South Laguna’s sanitary system.

The Dana Point application would compete with plans proposed by other agencies, including the South Coast Water District.

The 6:30 p.m. meeting will be held in City Hall, 33282 Street of the Golden Lantern, Suite 210. Information: (714) 248-9890.
