Eight Arrested in Police Sweep of 14 Homes
Police arrested eight people during a sweep of 14 homes in three cities last week, officials said.
Detectives with the Garden Grove Police Department obtained search warrants for the houses as a follow-up to a drive-by shooting in the Silver Acres neighborhood last month, Lt. John Woods said. One person was wounded in that shooting, which police believe was gang-related.
On Friday, the detectives searched homes in Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Huntington Beach.
Officials found an operational methamphetamine laboratory at one of the homes, Woods said.
The eight will face a range of charges from probation violations to suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia, Woods said.
It was not immediately clear whether they were involved in last month’s shooting.
