Children’s Hospital Closes Outreach Clinic

Children’s Hospital of Orange County closed its Anaheim outreach medical clinic Friday, after two years of operation.

Officials said that all the patients formerly served by the clinic, on West Romneya Drive, have been referred to doctors in the area.

Hospital officials called the move a relocation, but said they have not found a new site.

The hospital “is studying areas in Orange County where access to primary care services for children is needed, particularly for underserved children and families,” said Jaynie Boren, executive director of managed care.

“Based on this research, a recommendation for a new site will be made to hospital administrators within the next several months.”

The hospital also operates outreach clinics in Santa Ana and Orange, which offer primary pediatric care.

The Santa Ana and Anaheim clinics have had about 20,000 visits a year combined.
