Daisy Mae Robinson; Longtime Oxnard Resident

Daisy Mae Robinson of Oxnard, a retired food processor with Hueblein Inc., died Sunday in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was 82.

Robinson was born June 18, 1915, in Marietta, Texas, and lived in Ventura County for 49 years.

She married Lewis W. Robinson in 1942, and they moved to Oxnard in 1948. The couple had four children.

Robinson joined Bethel AME Church and for many years served as president of the Pastor’s Aid Society.

She worked as a food processor until her retirement in 1978.

Known as “Maudia,” Robinson is remembered by her family as an excellent cook.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, Robinson is survived by daughters Audree of Oxnard and Deborah Coleman of Sacramento; son Wesley of Oxnard; brother Willie G. McCoy of Camarillo; sisters Jessie Nickelberry, Nealie Driver and Lois Walker, all of Oxnard; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Florzell Brown, and son, Johnny Mack Robinson.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Garcia Mortuary, Oxnard.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, Oxnard. Interment will follow in Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo. Arrangements are under the direction of Garcia Mortuary, Oxnard.
