Foster Chosen to Lead Fieldstone Into New Markets

Frank Foster has been named chief operating officer for Fieldstone Communities Inc. in Newport Beach. He will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the company and guide its expansion into new Southern California markets, including Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Foster, who joined the company in 1986, had most recently been regional manager.

John Wm. Winkelhaus II has retired from Ingram Micro Inc., a Santa Ana wholesale distributor of technology products and services. Winkelhaus, who was with the company for 15 years, had been executive vice president of global channel assembly. Succeeding him is Ed Pensel, senior vice president of global configuration operations. In addition, Kevin Murai has been appointed president of Ingram Micro Canada. He had been vice president of operations for the region. Murai succeeds Gordon Schofield, who left the company.

Julie Nakata has joined Steri-Oss Inc., a Yorba Linda manufacturer of dental implants, as corporate controller. She previously held several senior financial management positions at AST Research Inc. in Irvine and, before that, was with Point 4 Data Corp. in Irvine and Price Waterhouse in Newport Beach.

Jim Julson has been named senior project manager at R.D. Olson Construction in Irvine. Before joining the company, he was senior project manager for Design Building Systems in Northern California.

Kelli Ferguson has joined Feldsott, Lee & Feinberg law offices in Newport Beach as director of marketing. She will oversee public relations, marketing and promotional efforts.

Susan Firth has been named sales manager for the Waterfront Hilton Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. She was formerly senior sales manager for the Westin Los Angeles Airport.

James C. Norman, manager of the Costa Mesa office of HSI GeoTrans, has been appointed vice president. He has been with the company since 1990 and specializes in soil and water environmental quality assessment and remediation, regulatory liaison and underground storage tank assessment and compliance activities.

Craig Knauf has joined Monitoring Automation Systems, an Irvine provider of monitoring and security software, as sales consultant. He was formerly manager of security at Edison Security Services and, before that, publisher of Security Sales magazine for six years.
