Business travelers ranked Renaissance hotels No. 1, according to a study by J.D. Power & Associates and Frequent Flyer magazine. Last year’s inaugural survey winner, Westin Hotels, fell to second this year, followed by Hyatt and Marriott, which tied for third place, said Stephen Goodall of Agoura Hills-based J.D. Power & Associates. A total of 8,067 frequent business travelers were surveyed about 11 upscale hotel chains. According to the study, Renaissance leads the industry in satisfaction for its check-in process, price and value and its food and beverage offerings. Westin continues to lead in guest room satisfaction, the study said. According to the study, the guest room contributes 28% to overall satisfaction; the arrival process 20%; price and value 19%; hotel service 13%; the departure process 12%; and food and beverage 8%. Luxury, mid-price, economy and budget hotel chains were not ranked in this study.
