Bodies of 2 Men Found in Trunk of Stolen Car
Police found two bodies in the trunk of a parked car in a West Covina neighborhood Wednesday.
The two men apparently were murdered, although the cause of their deaths was not known, said West Covina police Officer Rudy Lopez.
The car had been reported stolen in East Los Angeles on Monday, and the bodies appeared to have been in the trunk for several days, Lopez said.
Residents in the 1500 block of South Conlon Street reported the abandoned Mercury sedan about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday. Officers were examining the car when they smelled a strong odor, which prompted them to open the trunk.
West Covina police had not identified the men, who are believed to be in their 20s.
