Brethren Christian 60, Sierra Madre Maranatha 54--Brethren Christian (4-11) made 10 of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory after Maranatha (3-9) went on a 12-0 run to pull even, 46-46.

Kevin Thomas led the Warriors with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Lee Mamaradlo had 13 points, seven assists and five steals.

Capistrano Valley 61, Esperanza 55--Mike Stowell scored 18 points and Jermaine McDaniel added 17 for host Capistrano Valley (11-4). Doug Brown had 22 points, including five three-pointers, for Esperanza (8-9).

Dana Hills 56, Aliso Niguel 50--Todd Pittman and Tim McKee scored 13 points each for Dana Hills (7-9), which was tied at the half, 30-30.

El Dorado 57, Valencia 51--Scott Keen’s three-pointer with 2:30 remaining put El Dorado (11-4) ahead by five to help clinch the victory. Keen led El Dorado with 16 points, Mike Gartner added 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Rich Reynoza scored 18 points for Valencia (6-10).

La Mirada 59, Buena Park 52--Buena Park let a 14-point lead get away when it was outscored, 26-5, in the fourth quarter. Brian McDonald had 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Coyotes (8-7).

Laguna Hills 59, Fountain Valley 40--Bill Rietkerk scored all 12 of his points in the first half for host Laguna Hills (13-3).

Loara 68, Western 49--Martin Banda had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Loara (13-3), which led, 40-21, at halftime.

Los Alamitos 70, Cypress 59--Ricky Garibay had 18 points and five assists for Los Alamitos (8-6), which led, 30-19, at halftime. Travis Weaver led Cypress (5-9) with 15 points.

Savanna 71, Foothill 59--Will King led all scorers with 27 points for Savanna (6-10). Larry Cambra led Foothill (5-11) with 24 points.

Woodbridge 56, Villa Park 49--Josh Burgess scored eight of his nine points in the fourth quarter, including four of four free throws in the final minute, to help ice it for host Woodbridge (9-7).

Villa Park (10-6) led, 33-22, early in the third quarter before Woodbridge rallied. The Warriors went on a 17-4 run and Shane Harris’ three-pointer to close the quarter gave Woodbridge the lead, 39-37.

Alan Verzani scored 19 points for Villa Park.

In the Garden Grove League:

Los Amigos 69, Santiago 68 (OT)--Alvaro Arcos, who had 28 points, made a three-pointer with the shot clock expiring and 50 seconds remaining in overtime to give Los Amigos a six-point lead.

John Valenzuela had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Los Amigos (4-11, 1-0).

Bolsa Grande 49, La Quinta 46 (OT)--Chris Smith scored 15 points and Ben Fredrickson added 14 for Bolsa Grande. The Matadors (11-4, 1-0) outscored La Quinta, 7-4, in overtime.

Rancho Alamitos 46, Garden Grove 42--Brad Steen made two free throws late in the game to give Rancho Alamitos (2-12, 1-0) a four-point lead.

Roland Quach scored 22 points for visiting Garden Grove (1-14, 0-1).

In the Golden West League:

No. 6 Tustin 49, Santa Ana 29--The Tillers (13-3) led, 15-5, after one quarter and were never threatened. Peter Johnston scored nine points for Tustin.

No. 7 Ocean View 64, Saddleback 37--Garid Beeler scored 18 points on eight of 12 shooting and Tony Dow added 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Ocean View (11-4, 1-0).

Servite 76, Westminster 31--Steve Shea had 19 points and 10 rebounds for visiting Servite (11-4, 1-0), which led, 48-19, at halftime. Ryan Bulatao added 13 points and 10 assists for the Friars.

In Garden Grove League girls’ basketball:

La Quinta 30, Bolsa Grande 20--Bonnie Shum grabbed 14 rebounds to lead La Quinta (4-6, 1-0).

Rancho Alamitos 26, Garden Grove 24--Brooke Green scored all nine of her points on three-pointers in the second half as Rancho Alamitos (7-7, 1-0) outscored Garden Grove, 21-10, to erase a nine-point halftime deficit.

Santiago 41, Los Amigos 31--Veronica Cerda scored 13 points for visiting Santiago.

In a nonleague game:

Pacifica 40, University 27--Jaymee Pendergast and Tracy Downs scored 14 points each for Pacifica (6-7).

Valencia 46, Sunny Hills 43--Monika Jackley’s two free throws with 52 seconds remaining in the game was the difference for Valencia. Jackley led the Tigers (5-11) with 22 points.
