Santa Fe Pacific Pipeline Partners, L.P.: The Orange-based independent operator of a refined petroleum products pipeline said fourth-quarter net income climbed to $17.7 million, or 89 cents a unit, from $5.4 million, or 27 cents a unit, for the 1996 fourth quarter.

The recent quarter included charges totaling $4.3 million for potential Federal Energy Regulation Commission reparations and costs associated with the proposed sale of the partnership to Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. The company included a $15-million provision for litigation in the fourth quarter a year ago.

Revenue was up 2% to $61.8 million from $60.4 million.

For the year, net income rose 33% to $69.4 million, or $3.51 a unit, from $52.3 million, or $2.64 a unit, for the previous year. Revenue grew 2% to $244.4 million from $240.1 million.
