* PORTLAND (7-5) at PEPPERDINE (8-4), 7 p.m., KIEV (870)--The Waves begin West Coast Conference play with a three-game winning streak and a 5-0 record at home. Pepperdine has shot better than 50% while holding its last three opponents to 67 points or fewer. Guard Gerald Brown leads the Waves with an 18.9 scoring average and forward Bryan Hill averages 10.9 points and 7.8 rebounds. Portland has beaten Pepperdine eight consecutive times, the longest current streak in WCC play. Forward Jason Franklin tops Portland with an 11.9 scoring average and guard Dionn Holton leads the WCC in assists at 5.7.
