This new Web site is the latest in a series of condition-specific sites from the creators of the Journal of the American Medical Assn. to help consumers locate high-quality clinical information. The women’s site is also being launched with two attached sites containing detailed information on contraception and sexually transmitted diseases. The two “module” sites are funded by grants from the pharmaceutical firms Ortho-McNeil and Advanced Care Products, so consumers should be aware that there will be “advertising” under special headings at these two module sites.
