Share

King Week observances will include an interfaith prayer breakfast this week where Christian and Muslim leaders will discuss how their communities respond to hate crimes.

Salam Al-Marayati, director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, and the Rev. Windle Tucker, pastor of the First AME Zion Church of Los Angeles, will be among the participants. Tucker’s church was heavily damaged in an fire last year.

The event also will feature musical performances and readings commemorating the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and his message of interracial and interfaith cooperation, organizers said.
