What Are You Drinking?
John Shafer, Shafer Vineyards
“When I was at the Union Square Cafe in New York City, they brought out a Vouvray from my birth year, the 1924 Le Mont. I had never heard of a Vouvray that old; we were all dumbfounded. But it was very drinkable. It was basically dry to semi-dry. It was not oxidized. It still had some fruit. It was very pleasant, definitely not the kind of thing you leave in your glass.”
