Your Jan. 12 story on the independent counsel’s witch hunt of Henry Cisneros highlights a very disturbing and frightening trend in Washington. This is only one of several examples of Republican-led expenditures of millions of taxpayer dollars to ruin political opponents rather than uncovering true government abuse.
The unchecked power of the special prosecutor once again proves Machiavelli right that absolute power corrupts absolutely.
