Centralia Trustees to Try Fewer Meetings

Share

Fewer meetings might be a more productive way to handle business for the Centralia School District.

The board has voted unanimously to meet once a month for the next three months as a trial to see whether the district workload can be handled properly.

District officials said past meetings have been short, and trustees said they believe business could be handled more efficiently in one meeting.

Trustee Gloria Scanlon questioned whether the decision would be in the best interest of students but said she is willing to try monthly meetings for a short time.

The action cancels meetings on Jan. 27, Feb. 24 and March 24. The district will review the monthly meetings in March and consider whether to make the arrangement permanent.
