Women in Head-On Collision Identified
Two women injured when their cars collided head-on over the weekend on U.S. 101 north of Ventura have been identified by the California Highway Patrol.
Eleonor F. Canty, 43, of Ventura, and Francesca E. Crocker, 22, of Santa Barbara, were taken to Saint Francis Medical Center in Santa Barbara after Sunday’s 7 p.m. crash, CHP officials said. The women were trapped in their cars for about 20 minutes after the crash, which occurred near La Conchita.
Canty was in the hospital’s intensive care unit, where she was in fair condition, hospital authorities said. Crocker was treated and released.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, CHP officials said.
