2 Sue for Magazine Solicitor Sweepstakes

American Family Publishers was sued by contestants who say the leading magazine solicitor told them they had won its sweepstakes and then failed to pay off, lawyers reported. Ina Brown and Daniel Gibby filed the lawsuit in Tampa, saying American Family had sent them sweepstakes solicitations that promised millions. The contestants’ attorneys asked that the suit be made a class-action so other recipients of the sweepstakes offers could seek damages. An American Family spokeswoman said the company had not received a copy of the suit and had no comment.
