Connecticut reserve forward Antric Klaiber was suspended from the eighth-ranked Huskies after his arrest on drunken-driving charges early Wednesday after crashing his car into a highway barrier in Hartford, Conn.

Klaiber, who lives off-campus in Coventry, was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving too fast for conditions. He also received a seat belt violation. He was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 2.

Meanwhile, X-rays Monday showed starting power forward Kevin Freeman had a broken right wrist.

The Western Athletic Conference will not formally discipline coaches Larry Shyatt of Wyoming and Rick Majerus of Utah for a sideline incident during Saturday’s basketball game at Salt Lake City.

WAC Commissioner Karl Benson made the decision after reviewing the altercation, associate commissioner Jeff Hurd said.

Majerus had to be restrained by his assistant coaches and the referee after Shyatt made some comments.

On his Sunday TV show, Majerus said Shyatt accused the Utes of dirty play and suggested the Cowboys would be told to retaliate if it didn’t stop.
