In Academy League girls’ basketball:

Connelly 49, Downey Calvary Chapel 44--Jamie Poon scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Connelly. Diane Kelly added 12 points and eight rebounds for Connelly (14-0, 5-0).

In the Century League:

Foothill 45, Orange 44--Crystal Bernal made two free throws with about a minute left to bring Orange (11-8, 2-4) within one, but that’s as close as the Panthers got. Foothill improved to 9-13, 3-3.
