Looking to increase your intake of information about Internet business? A new monthly magazine has jumped into that crowded niche.

Business 2.0, says its editor, Wired magazine alumnus James Daly, “is a business magazine for people who need to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.”

Daly, who peppers his description of the subject with such Wired-esque phrases as “networked economy,” “anti-hierarchical” and “ripping through the world,” says Business 2.0 will distinguish itself from general-interest business magazines by taking a deeper look at how to succeed at Internet commerce.

That’s a goal shared by the likes of the monthlies Red Herring and Upside, which Daly views as more narrowly targeted at the Silicon Valley “in” crowd. And unlike the Industry Standard, a weekly based on a similar theme, Business 2.0 will not be news-driven but will take a step back from the frenetic pace of the Internet to give a longer, more detailed look at key companies and developments, Daly says.

However, the premier issue, out Tuesday, resembles approaches used by competitors. It includes features on “The 25 Most Intriguing Minds of the New Economy,” the misadventures of a failed online advertising start-up and a success story from the Internet portal wars.
