Pakistani Man a Fraud, Experts Say
U.S. officials and academic experts have concluded that a Pakistani man who said he witnessed Pakistani officials discussing a preemptive nuclear attack on India is a fraud. Frank von Hippel of the anti-nuclear weapon Federation of American Scientists said he reached his conclusion after interviewing Iftikhar Chaudhry Khan for an hour by phone about his education, work for the Pakistani nuclear agency and understanding of nuclear physics. “He doesn’t know the most elementary facts about what a nuclear reactor is,” Von Hippel said.
