* Apple Computer Inc. will post its third consecutive quarterly profit when it announces its earnings next Wednesday, interim Chief Executive Steve Jobs said during his keynote speech at Macworld Expo in New York. Jobs had been expected to participate in Macworld via teleconference from Apple’s Cupertino headquarters because his wife is due to have a baby soon, and his last-minute decision to appear at the show surprised even Apple employees. Also at Macworld, Phil Schiller, Apple’s vice president for worldwide marketing, previewed a new version of the Macintosh operating system. Apple shares jumped $2.06 to close at a 52-week high of $32.56 on Nasdaq.
