Nationwide Health Properties Inc.: The Newport Beach real estate investment trust, which also invests in health care facilities, said net income for the second quarter rose 9% to $16.2 million, or 37 cents a share, from $14.9 million, or 36 cents a share, for the 1997 second quarter. Revenue rose 27% to $34.5 million from $27.2 million. For the first six months, net income increased 15% to $34.2 million, or 78 cents a share, from $29.7 million, or 71 cents a share, for the like period last year. The first-half net income this year included a gain of $2.3 million on the sale of two facilities. Revenue was up 26% to $67.6 million from $53.5 million.
