Bohannon Brothers Advance at Hardcourt Event

Brothers Dave and Dan Bohannon advanced to the round of 16 in men’s 50 singles Wednesday at the USTA National 50 and 55 Hardcourt Championships at Lindborg Racquet Club in Huntington Beach.

Dave Bohannon of Garden Grove, seeded third, defeated Owen Gillen of Cathedral City, 6-4, 6-0. Dan Bohannon of Orange, who is seeded sixth, defeated Ron Wihlidal of Stockton, 6-2, 6-2.

Also advancing in the men’s 50 singles was Frank Zebot of Laguna Beach, who defeated Marcelo DeLaserna of Norcross, Ga., 6-2, 6-2.

In the men’s 55 singles, Jerry Edgar of Mission Viejo defeated Lee Reid of Chesterfield, Mo., 6-2, 7-6, and Herm Ahlers of Dana Point defeated Larry Dodge of Piedmont, Calif., 6-3, 6-1.
