Family Housing Corp. Makes Push on Web

Share

In an attempt to move into the high-tech age and better serve clients and benefactors, the L.A. Family Housing Corp. has launched a World Wide Web site, organization officials announced Thursday.

“We recognize that in today’s world, everything is on the Internet,” said Tracy Wallace, development director for the nonprofit organization. “We still want to be competitive with the rest of the business world and other organizations competing for funds.”

By accessing the site, https://www.lafamilyhousing.org, interested parties can obtain information on transitional and permanent housing opportunities, the agency’s mobile outreach program, support services and the organization’s two emergency shelters.

The site also includes a section on success stories, profiling recently homeless families on the road back to recovery.

The Web site offers details about becoming involved with L.A. Family Housing Corp. by volunteering or making a donation. Online donations by credit card are accepted.

Internet users who want more information can e-mail the organization via the Web site or subscribe to the news list for updates on different programs.

The L.A. Family Housing Corp. runs two emergency shelters, one in the Valley at 7843 Lankershim Blvd., and one in Boyle Heights. The organization has 19 service sites throughout the San Fernando Valley, East Los Angeles and South Central Los Angeles. For more information on the programs, call (818) 982-4091.
