SMALL FACES: Those “Fly” boys of Sugar Ray are scheduled to re-team with producer David Kahne, who did their hit “Lemonade and Brownies” album, for at least three or four songs on a follow-up, tentatively due for a Nov. 3 release. Kahne’s availability for more will be determined by the duties of his new job as head of Reprise Records’ A&R; department. . . .

Lyle Lovett, known for his songwriting, is paying tribute to some of his influences on a two-CD album, “Step Inside This House,” due Sept. 22. Among the writers represented are Guy Clark, Michael Martin Murphey and the late Townes Van Zandt and Walter Hyatt.
