Re “Former Honor Student Made a String of Bad Decisions,” July 12.

Principal Robert Kladifko of Reseda High School made a very bad decision by ignoring the privacy rights of a student. He not only revealed the contents of a student’s cumulative record, including elementary and secondary schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District, but also informed others that the student attended Los Alamitos High School in Orange County, and served a stint in a juvenile facility. Unlike the principal, the authorities in that facility respected the student’s right to privacy.

Kladifko’s actions are not only illegal but despicable since the student’s mother declined to be interviewed.

Evidently European immigrants who do not enjoy the protection of vocal organizations who defend the rights of nonwhite minorities are easy targets for this seasoned administrator. He should be ashamed.
