The first Youth Fair, celebrating the diversity of the San Fernando Valley, will be held Saturday in Van Nuys.

The event, sponsored by several area youth organizations, will feature arts and crafts, food and musical presentations, said event organizer Gloria Gold, director of the Halcyon Center. The center, which works to help children develop their creative talents, is sponsoring the fair along with the Commission for Children, Youth and Their Families Center, the Van Nuys Public Library, the Mid Valley YMCA, elected officials and other youth organizations.

Organizers expect to attract 3,000 local youth, their families, community residents, businesses and service providers.
