Flag Amendment
The respect that I have for Tommy Lasorda has been strengthened by his July 9 commentary. As a veteran myself, the thought of someone having the right to desecrate the flag--the symbol I had my life on the line for--is disgusting.
The flag is indeed the shining light for all looking for freedom. It is not, however, just a piece of cloth. And to deliberately damage or degrade it should be as unacceptable as a hate crime.
It’s time for members of Congress to get off their lazy behinds and protect the flag. I trust that all Californians will contact their representatives and insist on this amendment. BOB MICKNAK
