* Jazz. Next weekend’s Central Avenue Jazz Festival relives the “good old days” when jazz sang out of historic Central Avenue clubs such as the Dunbar Hotel. Vocalist Ernie Andrews with Frank Capp and the Juggernaut and the Gerald Wilson Big Band headline Aug. 1-2, noon-7:30 p.m. A pre-festival panel discussion Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. will feature musicians who worked the avenue in its heyday, among them Big Jay McNeely, Clifford Solomon, Clora Bryant and Buddy Collette.
