ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Sync Research Inc.: The Irvine maker of computer network products lost $3 million, or 17 cents a share, in the second quarter, the same as it lost a year earlier. The second quarter 1998 results included a provision of $267,000 related to onetime costs associated with the company’s recent management changes. Revenue increased 13% to $7.1 million from $6.3 million. The net loss for the six months was $6.2 million, or 36 cents a share, compared to a net loss of $9.2 million, or 54 cents a share, for the corresponding six months a year ago. Revenue was up 11% to $12.7 million from $11.4 million.
