Update--After winning five in a row, Los Angeles has lost two of its last three games, including a 3-0 shutout in Washington on July 11. The Galaxy is 8-2 at home, however, and has not lost back-to-back games this season. The team on Friday sold midfielder Wellington Sanchez of Ecuador to Morelia of Mexico’s first division. The move opens a spot for another foreign acquisition. With 53 goals, Washington is second in the league only behind the Galaxy, which has 60. D.C. United holds a 6-3 advantage in the all-time series and has won six of the last seven games. Forward Roy Lassiter has 15 goals and four assists in 15 games since joining the team April 22 from the Tampa Bay Mutiny. Opposing coaches Octavio Zambrano of the Galaxy and Bruce Arena of D.C. United will be going up against each other again Aug. 2 in the MLS All-Star game in Orlando, Fla.
