Anaheim City Council
* PARKING: The council will consider banning parking for one year on some streets in the Jeffrey-Lynne neighborhood to reduce crime and improve appearances.

Huntington Beach City Council
* POLICE AUDIT: Council members will discuss the results of a Police Department management study that suggested hiring more officers and changing some duties. Police administrators are expected to give their recommendations.

Laguna Hills City Council
* COMMUNITY CENTER: With only one bid received for constructing the community center and sports park, the council will consider rejecting it and advertising for more. The bid exceeds the project’s $12-million budget by more than $5 million.

Orange City Council
* HISTORIC TAXES: Council members will discuss whether to offer tax breaks to owners of historic homes. In exchange for the reduced property taxes, the homeowners must use the savings to make substantial improvements to their buildings.

Orange Unified School District
* CROSSING GUARDS: Trustees will vote on a proposal by the city to have the school district pay for half of the $300,000 per year it spends on crossing guards.

San Clemente City Council
* CASA ROMANTICA: The city will again review proposals for the restoration and use of Casa Romantica. The city accepted proposals through June 16 from groups or businesses interested in operating from the city-owned mansion. A proposed restaurant has prompted opposition from residents.

Villa Park City Council
* POLICE GRANT: The council will consider using money from a grant to help pay for a countywide police communication system. The city will receive about $14,800 for fiscal year 1998-99.

Stanton City Council
* BUS STOPS: The council will consider hiring a company to improve accessibility at some city bus stops for disabled passengers. Council members also will decide whether to replace two city vehicles with cleaner-fuel-burning trucks.
