Outlet Center Opens at State Line

The $75-million Fashion Outlet of Las Vegas has opened in Primm, Nev.

The mall, designed by MCG Architecture of Beverly Hills, is attached to the Primm Valley Resort & Casino, formerly the Prima Donna Hotel, through the casino portion of the state-line resort.

Among the outlet center’s 100 retailers are clothing stores that range from casual to upscale, including Guess, Gap, Neiman Marcus, Donna Karan and Brooks Brothers. Reebok, Just for Feet and Williams Sonoma also have stores in the center.

The building also houses restaurants and various food court eateries.

The covered center is 400,000 square feet. Its facade incorporates billboards--some nearly 10 times the standard size--to which retailers can purchase advertising rights in hopes of drawing Vegas-bound drivers from Interstate 15, MCG said.

The outlet is about 35 miles from Las Vegas and opened July 16. The space is currently about 65% occupied and could reach 90% by October, an MCG spokesman said.

Toronto-based TrizecHahn and Gordon Group Holdings of Las Vegas were co-developers of the project.
