Authorities found the body of a woman Saturday after a dog was seen carrying a human arm in an unincorporated area of Compton.
The remains were taken to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, where authorities will try to identify the victim and determine when the death occurred.
The dog was spotted just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the 15000 block of South Gibson Avenue, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Joan Raber.
A police dog later found the remains about 1:30 p.m. in the weeds of a vacant lot near southbound Interstate 710, Raber said.
