Portion of Freeway to Be Closed for 2 Days
A section of California 150 near St. Thomas Aquinas College will be closed Monday and Tuesday as construction crews relocate utility power lines, the California Department of Transportation announced.
The highway will be closed in both directions between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both days to allow construction equipment to move freely. Nighttime work has been ruled out because of safety concerns, Caltrans officials said.
Commuters making the trek either way between Santa Paula and Ojai will be rerouted along California 126, California 33 and the Ventura Freeway.
Caltrans officials advise commuters to plan for an extra hour of driving time between the two cities.
Meanwhile, Southern California Edison officials warn that electric power to some customers will be temporarily disrupted as the utility poles are moved. All customers scheduled to have their power cut will be notified in advance.
