Vigilantes Slam Grays Harbor, 18-5

Manny Gagliano hit two home runs, including a grand slam, in the Vigilantes’ 18-5 victory over the Grays Harbor Gulls in the first of a three-game series Tuesday in Hoquiam, Wash.

Gagliano’s grand slam came in a five-run fourth, which gave the Vigilantes’ a 10-3 lead. In his next at-bat in the sixth inning, Gagliano hit his fourth homer of the season.

The Vigilantes (11-12) also scored one in the second, four in the third, three in the seventh and four in the eighth.

Mission Viejo had 19 hits. Robert Muro drove in four runs for the Vigilantes.

Grays Harbor (10-13) scored three in the first and two in the fifth off Wally Ritchie (3-1), who was replaced in the sixth by Steve Ceterko. Ceterko finished the game to earn his first save.

The teams play again tonight and Thursday. The Vigilantes will play at Tri-City in Pasco, Wash., Friday through Sunday and return to Mission Viejo next Tuesday to face Reno at Saddleback College.
