City to Consider Road Work Contract
The City Council on Monday night is scheduled to consider awarding a contract for repairs to several streets this summer.
The council will decide whether to award CalMat Co. and Industrial Asphalt a $1.1-million contract to refurbish portions of Stearns and Alamo streets and a section of Erringer Road.
It’s expected that the construction would be completed by mid-October.
As part of the city’s Major Street Rehabilitation Program, Stearns Street is to be repaved from Los Angeles Avenue to Alamo Street. Alamo Street is to be repaved from Gage Avenue to Erringer Road and from Texas to Yosemite avenues. The project will also include some intersection improvements.
The City Council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 2929 Tapo Canyon Road.
