Red Cross Offers First Aid Courses

First aid courses will be offered countywide in July by Ventura County’s chapter of the American Red Cross. The standard seven-hour course and a more comprehensive Community First Aid and Safety course will be taught.

The standard first aid course exceeds OSHA workplace guidelines and includes CPR training. It will be taught in Simi Valley and Ventura.

Two standard courses will be held at the Simi Valley chapter’s east valley site, 1919 Williams St., No. 200, July 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 20 and 27 from 6 to 10 p.m.

In Ventura, a two-day standard course will be held July 9 and 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. Five full-day courses will be offered July 7, 18, 24, 27 and 31, all at chapter headquarters, 2355 Portola Rd.

The nine-hour Community First Aid course will be offered in Ventura, Simi Valley and Moorpark.

Three one-day courses will be held in Ventura on July 6, 15 and 25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

At the east valley district site, the course will be held July 18 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and July 23 and 30 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. each session.

A Community First Aid course will be offered at the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, in Moorpark from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration may be completed at the center.
