Meyers Named to Onyx Acceptance’s Board

* C. Thomas Meyers has joined the board of directors of Onyx Acceptance Corp., an Irvine automobile finance company. Meyers recently retired from Capital Markets Assurance Corp., where he was managing director of credit enhancement.

* Karen Newcomb has been named director of sales for Roddel & Associates Inc. in Tustin, which is responsible for the on-site sales and marketing of 16 new home communities. She joined the company in 1996 after working for the Washington division of Toll Brothers.

* Robert L. Roe has been elected to the board of directors of CoCensys Inc., an Irvine developer of drugs to treat neurological and psychiatric disorders. He is executive vice president and chief operating officer of Cytel Corp. in San Diego.

* Alexandria Felton has joined GreenLight Communications, a Newport Beach high-tech marketing and public relations firm, as an account executive. She was formerly an intern with San Francisco magazine and the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Felton also worked in journalism and public relations in Santa Barbara and New York.

* Yves F. Pinkowitz has been named managing director of Pacific Meridian Investment Services in Newport Beach, a new firm offering investment accounting services to the insurance industry. Pinkowitz was previously president and chief operating officer of Pacific Corinthian Life Insurance Co.

* Scott Browning, Tim McKay and Sean Peasley have been appointed partners in the Costa Mesa office of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Browning is a tax partner specializing in estate and trust taxation; McKay is in the merger and acquisitions group; and Peasley is a new enterprise risk services partner.

* Patricia J. Gifford has been appointed to the new position of chief medical officer for ARV Assisted Living Inc., a Costa Mesa operator of assisted living communities. Gifford, a geriatrician, most recently served as medical director for the Monarch Healthcare medical group in Mission Viejo. She has also served as medical director of wellness and geriatrics for Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills.

* Shanna Clanin has been named manager of Catellus Residential Group’s new Homeworks Design Studio in Newport Beach. She previously headed her own interior design firm, Design For You Inc., in Laguna Hills. Clanin was also director of merchandising for J.M. Peters Co. and was on the staff of Interior Designer Innerhouse in El Toro.

* Charles A. Dickinson has joined the board of Dense-Pac Microsystems Inc., increasing the number of directors to six. Dickinson is the former chairman of the board and currently a director of Solectron Corp. in Milpitas.

* Jeffrey T. Gill has been appointed managing principal for the Irvine office of MCG Architects. He was formerly project director in the Beverly Hills office.

* Lysa Wyner-Schulte has joined the career services firm of Lee Hecht Harrison as senior vice president and general manager in the Irvine office. She had been vice president of business development. Before that, Wyner-Schulte was area marketing manager for Ernst & Young LLP, where she oversaw marketing strategies for the Orange County, San Diego and Inland Empire offices.

* Janet Church-Hawkins has been appointed vice president of client services for F Space Advertising/Marketing Communications in Costa Mesa. She was most recently marketing director, west region for Crown Golf.

* Rob McCann has been appointed president and chief operating officer of LSA Associates, an Irvine-based environmental and transportation planning firm. He will be responsible for day-to-day authority and operation of the company, in addition to his role as managing principal of the Irvine office. Les Card will continue as chief executive, responsible for long-range planning and business development.

* Caroline Goyke has been named regional manager for Merit Property Management Inc. in Mission Viejo. Goyke, who joined the company in 1990, was previously an account executive and a district manager.

* Anil K. Puri has been appointed acting dean of Cal State Fullerton’s School of Business Administration and Economics. His one-year term was effective June 15. Puri is director of the university’s Institute for Economic and Environmental Studies and has been chairman of the economics department since 1988.

* Lela Coutsoftides has joined Gladstone International in Irvine as account coordinator. She was previously with Baker/Winokur/Ryder Public Relations in Beverly Hills.

* Alan Zwiren has been named strategic alliance director, IBM global relations for Magic Software Enterprises in Irvine. Before joining the company, he was director of global IBM partnerships for Synon Inc. in Larkspur, Calif.

* Sandy Kikerpill and Jeff Manley have been appointed senior vice presidents for the Irvine office of the Staubach Co. Both had been vice presidents for the real estate consulting firm. In addition, Patty Breland has joined the firm as senior associate. She was formerly director of marketing for H. Hendy Associates, a commercial interior design firm.

* Laura A. Raybin is the new director of marketing for Smith Micro Software Inc. in Aliso Viejo. Raybin joined the company from AST Research, where she was director of product marketing since 1993.

* John Maderich has been appointed to the new position of director, project management for Display Works, an Irvine trade show exhibit and display house. He was formerly project manager for ExhibitGroup/San Francisco and Color & Design in San Jose.

* Larry D. Hooper has joined Golden West Financial in Costa Mesa as vice president of its real estate division. Hooper, one of the original founders of the company in 1977, was most recently a real estate loan officer with American Liberty Funding.
