Bridge Construction to Close Victoria Ave.
A bridge construction project will close the northbound lanes of Victoria Avenue at the Ventura Freeway from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Ventura officials said.
Pilings are being erected to support a temporary span between existing freeway bridges. That span will be used to reroute freeway traffic while existing bridges are lengthened, city officials said.
The existing bridges are being lengthened so the Victoria Avenue overpass can be widened as part of a city interchange project.
During the closures, traffic on the northbound lanes of Victoria Avenue will not be able to pass under the freeway and will instead be routed onto the freeway. The road’s southbound lanes will remain open. Electronic signs will be placed on the freeway to warn drivers.
